Annual Fundraiser: The Leukemia Cup Kickoff

Festive fundraiser to be held, May 13, 2010 at ROCBAR

HOUSTON, March 29, 2010 – The Eight Annual Leukemia Cup Kickoff will be held Thursday, May 13^th from 5:00 to 9:00pm at ROCBAR, located at 530 Texas Avenue in Houston, Texas. This festive fundraising event has become a yearly tradition attracting more than 400 patrons from the Houston area who come together in support of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and its programs. It is the kickoff to the 2010 Leukemia Cup Regatta which will be held at the Houston Yacht Club June 25^th to 27^th.

“The Leukemia Cup Kickoff has established a tremendous following among professionals and sailors alike who enjoy this festive fundraising event while supporting a very important cause. Everyone looks forward to the kickoff because it is fun, upbeat, attracts a great mix of people and is held at a central location in Houston,” notes Sara Davis, founder of the event. “It is an excellent way to raise awareness about leukemia and other blood cancers, showcase the progress on the research front, and call attention to the continued need for support.” Patrons paying the $25 cover charge will sample fare from local restaurants who generously donate catered hors d’oeuvres for the festive occasion. Networking and socializing will take place throughout the evening while guests can bid on silent auction items which include fine art, private yacht excursions, wine, jewelry, and much more.
